A Deadly Business

As a fan of Lis Wiehl, I was excited to received an advanced copy of this book.  This book starts with courtroom drama, and never lets up.

Mia Quinn is taking her place in front of a courtroom as a prosecutor in a murder trial when the suspected murdered lunges at her and tries to slit her throat.  She fights off his attack and attempts to return to normal proceedings.  However, her life is far from normal.  She is a single mom who struggles to maintain the balance between work and family.  Her balance is thrown off when a detective suggests that her husband's death was not an accident but premeditated murder.  As she looks deeper into her husbands life, she finds out more than she ever anticipated.

The story is fast-paced with lots of drama, action, and intrigue.  I enjoyed reading this story and know that there is more to come as Mia is starting to have feelings for 2 men in her life.  There will certainly be another book in the Mia Quinn Mystery series.

Thomas Nelson provided me a free copy of this book in exchange for my review which I freely give.
